Carlos Gonzalez
Carlos Gonzalez is the Coal Combustion Team Leader at AES Puerto Rico. He has been with AES Puerto Rico since our first plant’s inauguration in 2001 and over the past 20 years has been a part of teams including Operations, Environment, and Safety.

María Ruiz-Yantín
María Ruiz-Yantín is the Senior Environmental Coordinator at AES Puerto Rico. She joined AES one year ago as part of the environmental team. María is a geologist who has a master’s degree in Environmental Law and Policy.
Sheila García
Sheila thinks that community relations is key to the work and success of AES Puerto Rico. “To achieve our goals of creating sustainable, high impact social programs we work together not only with local leaders, but also with established organizations and our own corporate volunteers. This year, we formed a new alliance with the Red Cross to be able to support the island before, during and after emergencies.”

Obed Santos
Obed Santos is the Plant Manager of AES Ilumina, the first industrial scale solar facility in Puerto Rico, and at the time of its inauguration in 2012 the largest in the Caribbean. Located in Guayama, Puerto Rico, it has 24 MW of installed capacity or enough to power 6,585 homes. Obed was directly involved in overcoming the associated technical challenges and developing cost reduction projects to maximize profitability. He supervises the maintenance contracts, budget, permits renewal and commercial relations with the Puerto Rico Electric Power Authority.

Gabriel Sanabria
Gabriel Sanabria has been a member of AES’ team in Puerto Rico since 2008 where he has held various individual contributor and leadership positions on the engineering, maintenance, and commercial areas. A licensed mechanical engineer with a master’s degree in business administration, Gabriel’s current focus on the commercial team are the market origination activities and development of growth opportunities for AES. As part of his most recent commercial endeavors, Gabriel was selected by Caribbean Business on their 2019 40 Under 40 List.
